In 2006 I was engaged by the Sheffield based cultural development agency Eventus and Sheffield City Council to carry out a project which involved helping a group of 8 local residents learn how to use a digital camera and basic digital imaging techniques to photograph the meadows of wild flowers planted by Green Estates on Parson Cross Estate. Most had never held a camera in their hands in their lives, but in a total of 8 hours they had created photographs of such extraordinary quality that an exhibition devoted to their work was mounted in the Cupola Gallery in Hillsborough. .
